Long-term change needs local structures. That's why we build and operate our own infrastructure for collecting, sorting and processing waste.
Our collection boats are purpose-built for use on rivers and remove waste directly from the water. They're supported by shoreline cleanups and local collection systems. In our Zero-Waste Centers and mobile sorting containers, the collected waste is then sorted and prepared for the best possible processing.
These structures are operated by our local teams — on the boats, along the riverbanks and in the Zero-Waste Centers. This creates long-term jobs with fair wages and local capacity that go far beyond individual cleanup actions.
Our goal isn't just to remove waste from the environment, but to build ecological, social and economic structures that work in the long run.
Because we operate our projects ourselves, we can take responsibility for the entire process, develop local structures with purpose, and continuously track data on quantities, waste streams and processing.

Since our founding in 2018, we've removed several million kilograms of waste from waterways — and the number grows every day. Every kilogram we collect brings us closer to our goal: a cleaner, more livable environment for everyone.
We collect anything that doesn't belong in the water! Plastic is especially harmful to the environment, but we also collect plenty of other things — from car tires to refrigerators to textiles. What we find varies a lot by region. It's not just about plastic for us; it's about anything that harms nature. And don't worry: before we process the material, we separate and sort it into different categories so it can be processed properly.
We rely on maximum transparency and digital traceability. Every single step — from collection to the issuance of Plastic Credits — is documented and checked:

Our own software: All data, including photos of the collected and weighed waste, is stored in software we developed ourselves. Every Plastic Credit gets a unique serial number, making it fully traceable from the collection site to sale. Double counting is ruled out.

Of course, our Plastic Credits don't replace zero-waste programs or a company's own responsibility to avoid waste. But we contribute an important part: we clean up existing pollution, create local jobs, and make sure waste is recycled or processed in the best possible way.
Our goal is to recover as much of the collected waste as possible. This is grounded in our certification under the Ocean Bound Plastic standard, which ensures that no collected material can end up back in nature.
Local recycling: Wherever possible, we keep materials in circulation.
Co-processing: Waste that can't be recycled is used as an alternative fuel in industry — for example, in cement plants. There, it replaces fossil fuels, generating energy while reducing the amount of waste.
We're a transparent company, and we also report on our challenges:
In Albania, around two-thirds of the collected waste is recyclable material (mainly PET). This is compacted in our Zero-Waste Center and transported to recycling facilities in Tirana. The remaining third of non-recyclable waste currently has to be disposed of at a secured local landfill. That doesn't meet the standard we're aiming for. Importantly: waste that ends up in a landfill is never sold as a Plastic Credit.
We're working hard to develop sustainable solutions here too, expanding local infrastructure together with our partners so more materials can be responsibly processed and recovered in the future.
