By purchasing our Plastic Credits, you directly fund the collection and processing of plastic waste from rivers and waterways. We rely on our own local teams and infrastructure, ensuring that the waste we collect is sorted and sent for the best possible processing.

Your contribution supports more than the collection of individual kilograms: long-term partnerships help us operate our cleanup projects over time, build Zero Waste Centers and continue developing the necessary local collection and sorting infrastructure.

Plastic Credits can be flexibly integrated into your sustainability strategy and linked to products, campaigns or specific goals. This turns your sustainability goals into concrete, measurable action without requiring you to build your own infrastructure.

Plastic Credits do not replace your own efforts to prevent plastic waste and advance the circular economy. Our Plastic Credits are certified under the internationally recognized Ocean Bound Plastic (OBP) Standard and independently audited. The quantities collected, our procedures and subsequent processing are externally reviewed and documented for full traceability.

For your Plastic Credits, you receive an individual waste collection certificate with details on quantity, collection site, date, and order number – concrete evidence of the environmental contribution you fund, ready to use in your sustainability communication and reporting.

Plastic Credits: ready for EmpCo

From September 2026, the EmpCo Directive applies across the EU: environmental claims must be provable and clearly substantiated – vague terms like "eco-friendly," "plastic neutral," or "green" are no longer enough.

Fully traceable with migo

migo is our central track-and-trace platform. For every Plastic Credit, we document everything from the collection site through photos and weight data to processing. An individual ID makes the journey of the collected waste fully traceable and rules out double counting.

As our partner, you can view your Plastic Credits and current project updates directly in migo. You also receive a waste collection certificate with details on quantity, location, period, and collection method – solid evidence for your sustainability communication and reporting.

How exactly is a Plastic Credit created?

A Plastic Credit is the result of a fully documented process.
A Credit is only issued after every single step has been verified.

Collection

Our teams remove waste on site using waste collection boats, barriers, and manual cleanups. Every collection is documented with photos, and the exact coordinates of the collection site are logged in the system.

Sorting & Drying

The waste we collect is sorted and dried at our Zero Waste Centers before being prepared for further processing.

Processing

The sorted material goes to processing partners. Only once they report back how many kilograms were actually processed does a Plastic Credit get created. That way, every Credit stands for plastic waste that has genuinely been processed.

Individual serial number

Every single Plastic Credit gets its own unique ID. That makes it precisely traceable from collection to issuance, ruling out double counting.

External audit

The quantities collected and processed are documented with official weighing certificates along the entire processing chain and independently verified.

At everwave, Plastic Credits are certified under the internationally recognized Ocean Bound Plastic (OBP) Standard and independently audited. The audit covers not just collection, but also fair working conditions, compliance with national law, and the selection and oversight of collection sites.

We also document collection using GPS data, photos, and our own migo software. Every Plastic Credit receives an individual ID, making it clearly assigned. This ensures that collected quantities are issued as Plastic Credits only once.

The Ocean Bound Plastic Standard and its certification specifically support projects that remove plastic waste from the environment. They provide a scientifically grounded, transparently verifiable basis for ensuring that the waste collected genuinely comes from at-risk zones.

Our project locations in Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, and Sihanoukville in Cambodia are currently OBP-certified. In Albania, we are working toward meeting the standard.
