PLASTIC CREDITS

With everwave companies can compensate garbage holistically and clean up the world.

What are Plastic Credits?

Inspired by the concept of climate and CO2 neutrality, we offer companies the opportunity to offset or neutralize their garbage footprint, the amount of garbage for one or more products or a free amount. For every amount a company pays, we collect a certain amount of garbage from bodies of water around the world. This is then fed back into the cycle as locally as possible, depending on the mission and infrastructure..

For 1€ we get 1kg of garbage from the waters of this world.

  • Sustainability: We focus on long-term compensation for companies so that they are permanently linked to environmental issues.
  • Experience from our operations: In addition to plastic, glass, metals, refrigerators, and wood, etc. contaminated with macro and microplastics end up in the environment.
  • Based on the experience of our previous assignments, a plastic credit includes 1 kg of garbage that we remove from the environment [* garbage = everything except organic (wood, etc.)] -> The plastic credit only contains garbage (see above), however, we also get wood contaminated with microplastics from the environment, this is not included in the price, but is removed by us because it harms the waters.
  • Companies are the cause of the garbage, they have to be involved!
  • Consumers can be involved!

Seven Steps – this is how it works

Step 1 – footprint

Your company thinks about an amount of waste that it wants to compensate.
▶ This can be, for example, the company’s garbage footprint, the amount of garbage for a specific product line, or a free amount.

Step 2 – Compensation

The company buys plastic credits from everwave.
▶  With 1 € 1kg of garbage is compensated.

Step 3 – Impact

Companies communicate their impact.
▶ With us, impact becomes visible. In addition to an order confirmation and further information about the collection of garbage, companies also receive pictures and videos for communication from everwave.

Step 4 – Missions

everwave collects garbage on worldwide cleanup missions.
▶ CollectiX and Hivex collect rubbish in the water and on land. Which technology is used depends on the respective structures in the country of deployment. Through AI, we also collect information about the exact location of the garbage, as well as its composition and occurrences.

Step 5 – Sorting

Sorting the collected material.
▶ In the waters we find car tires, refrigerators, plastic bottles, but also trees covered with microplastic. These different material flows are sorted on site and, if necessary, pretreated, e.g. washed.

Step 6 – Recycling

The collected material is recycled.
▶ Our goal is to close the cycle and return the material flows in it. In cooperation with the local infrastructure and international partners, the material is either recycled into new products or, if non-recyclable, sent to the ecologically most sensible disposal system.

Step 7 – Inspiration

Ecological education and inspiration.
▶ We are in constant contact with local NGOs, politicians and the media. Through additional educational work, we reach millions of people who are informed about our plastic problem in the waters. In this way, we raise awareness of the sustainable use of our environment.

That's in one euro for plastic credits

We show transparently and comprehensibly what we mean when we speak of €1 = 1kg of garbage.

Background: EPR systems and plastic credits

EPR (extended producer responsibility) stands for extended producer responsibility and is one of the key concepts for closing the plastics cycle.

You can find more information about this via the EPR Toolbox of the Prevent Waste Alliance , at who is also everwave member.

In addition to EPR systems, another strategy is about to make a breakthrough: Plastic Credits . In most countries, EPR systems are not yet developed, and they are not a solution for the plastics that are already in our environment. Plastic credits are therefore an attractive solution that gives companies the opportunity to reduce their plastic footprint.

➥ We would like to emphasize: Plastic credits are not an alternative for EPR systems, but an important addition – a great opportunity to make your production structures more sustainable.

We always value
